#EndSARS: I’ve Not Seen My Son For Over 1 12 months After He Was Taken Away By Police
Mr Christopher Ukpuru, a father of one of many victims of police brutality in Delta State has spoken to the panel of inquiry in Delta state.
Based on The PUNCH, the person instructed the judicial panel of inquiry sitting in Asaba that he has not set his eyes on his 33-year-old son, who was whisked away by the police throughout a raid at Ezenei Avenue, Asaba on August 8, 2019.
The daddy, Mr Christopher Ukpuru, narrated earlier than the panel that he was at work on the day of incident when neighbours, who witnessed the raid knowledgeable him that his son, Mr Councillor Ukpuru, had been arrested by the police.
He mentioned, “I left my workplace instantly to A’ Division Police Station, Asaba, however they refused me entry to him, after a police officer confided in me that he was arrested and delivered to the station.
“So, I made a decision to seek the advice of a lawyer to assist me to see the place my son is. Until date, I’ve not seen my son. Since I gave delivery to him, I’ve by no means seen him in any prison actions.”
Earlier, in her inaugural speech, the Chairman of the panel, Justice Celestina Ogisi (retd.), mentioned the panel had a mandate to obtain and examine complaints of police brutality or associated extra-judicial killings dedicated inside Delta State with a view to ascertaining their validity or in any other case.
