NNPC Set To Resume Oil Search In Lake Chad
The Nigerian Nationwide Petroleum Company (NNPC) will resume oil exploration within the Lake Chad Basin of Borno State, Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum Assets has revealed.
Talking after assembly with the Chief of Military Workers, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai and the Commander of the Multinational Joint Job Pressure (MNJTF), Maj-Gen. Ibrahim Yusuf on the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, Sylva stated oil exploration is resuming as a result of they imagine there’s relative peace within the space for drilling actions to proceed.
The Minister added that the collaboration with the navy is to make sure that safety is being supplied for oil exploration and drilling actions to start very quickly within the basin.
“The NNPC has seen a whole lot of prospects in Chad Basin to start exploration and drilling actions. That’s the reason the company is collaborating with the military to renew oil explorations.
“We needed to start exploration and drilling actions there as a result of we imagine that there’s relative peace on this space sufficient for us to proceed drilling actions within the northeast.
“As it’s possible you’ll properly know, we’ve discovered oil in Gombe State and we imagine that there’s a lot of oil to be discovered within the Chad Basin.”
