Two repentant bandit leaders who’ve been recognized as Sale Turwa and Muhammed Sani Maidaji have been acquired by the Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari.
They had been acquired on Wednesday on the Authorities Home in Katsina, SaharaReporters studies.
The repentant bandits are gang leaders of infamous syndicates of hoodlums terrorising the state.
They had been offered to the governor by the state’s Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Sanusi Buba, and his counterparts from the 17 Brigade, Katsina, Division of State Providers and the Civil Protection Corps.
The Commissioner of Police instructed Masari that it was the view and consensus of all the safety chiefs within the state to request him “to just accept the bandits’ regret and forgive them, in order to function encouragement for others to observe go well with”.
Describing the event as a really important milestone within the struggle in opposition to banditry, the governor urged different bandits to repent, assuring them that they, their households and property can be adequately protected.
He stated, “Authorities is all the time able to obtain, forgive and rehabilitate repentant bandits so long as they give up all arms and ammunition of their possession. However it’s not as much as us to romance with them.”
