President Buhari Reappoints Prof Yakubu As INEC Chairman
Yakubu has been reappointed as INEC Chairman by President Buhari
Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee has been reappointed to serve a second time period.
President Muhammadu Buhari gave his approval in an announcement made public by one his aides, Femi Adesina on Tuesday.
Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who was appointed head of INEC in 2015, has one other five-year time period, and is ready to supervise the 2023 normal election.
The assertion reads,
“President Muhammadu Buhari has offered the Chairman of the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, for a second time period in workplace.
“In a letter to President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, the President stated in accordance with the supply of Part 154 (1) of the structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), “I’m happy to current for affirmation by the Senate, the nomination of Professor Mahmood Yakubu for appointment as Chairman, Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) for a second and closing time period”.
“Prof Yakubu was first appointed by President Buhari in November 2015.”
