Dr Tony Jaja, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Copyright Fee has been relieved of his duties by President Muhammadu Buhari.
That is contained in a discover shared with journalists by the spokesperson for the Legal professional-Common of the Federation, Dr Umar Gwandu, on Monday.
The doc which was signed by the Solicitor-Common of the Federation and Everlasting Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr Dayo Apata (SAN), was dated October 15, 2020.
Titled, ‘Discover of your removing as Chairman, Governing Board of the Nigerian’, the discover referred to an earlier letter dated September 28, 2020 which was mentioned to have conveyed to Jaja the approval of the President for his sacking.
Whereas the discover said that Jaja’s removing took quick impact, it didn’t disclose the explanation for his sacking.
The discover ordered the sacked Chairman to right away hand over the property of the fee in his custody to the Director-Common, John Asein.
Jaja was inaugurated for a four-year tenure together with different members of he NCC board in Could 2019.
His sacking took place two and a half years into his tenure.
